Can I take Wegovy if I'm not diabetic?

Yes. Wegovy is licensed for weight management in adults who are clinically overweight or obese, regardless of diabetes status. Your pharmacist will confirm eligibility during your consultation.

How do I store Wegovy?

Unopened Wegovy pens should be stored in the fridge (2–8°C). Once in use, a pen can be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 28 days. Keep it away from heat and direct light.

How does Wegovy work?

Wegovy contains semaglutide, which mimics a natural hormone called GLP-1 that regulates appetite. It slows stomach emptying and reduces hunger, helping you eat less and lose weight alongside a healthy lifestyle.

How much weight can I expect to lose on Wegovy?

Clinical trials found patients lost an average of around 15% of their starting body weight over 68 weeks when Wegovy was combined with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise. Individual results vary.

What are the common side effects?

The most common are nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and headaches — particularly during the first few weeks or after a dose increase. These usually settle as your body adjusts.

How do I inject Wegovy?

Wegovy is a once-weekly self-injection using a pre-filled pen, given into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Our pharmacist will show you the correct technique during your consultation.

How long will I need to take Wegovy?

Most patients stay on Wegovy for 12 months or longer for sustained weight loss. Your pharmacist will review your progress regularly and discuss when to transition to a maintenance plan.
